It's no wonder that the Ford F-150 has been America's best-selling full-size pickup for years and years. This model comes in a stunning variety of styles, and you can customize your purchase further via a long list of package options. Towing power is impressive, the cabin layout is appealing, and durability is unmatched.

New for 2019 is the option of a 3.0L diesel V6 engine. You'll also want to check out the revisions to the 3.5L V6. Several new safety systems are now standard across the trim lineup. Two of the most popular trims are the XLT and Lariat. Both of these are mid-level trims, and both come with plenty of feature options. Below, we outline the differences between the two trims and focus on the available stand-alone options and packages.

Cab Configurations

The 2019 Ford F-150 XLT and Lariat models can be purchased in Regular, SuperCab, and SuperCrew cab styles. The Regular cab is two-door and seats three comfortably. The SuperCab and SuperCrew are four-door versions. The SuperCrew has a larger rear bench seating area that is chock full of storage areas. The Regular cab can be purchased with a standard or full-length bed. The same is true of the SuperCab version. The SuperCrew can be purchased with a standard bed or a shorter, 5-foot, 6-inch bed. The XLT has full carpeting in the cab, and the Lariat comes with carpeting as well as larger wheels and a trailer hitch.

Standard Features

Ford has definitely stepped up the game when it comes to standard convenience features on the 2019 F-150. The XLT gets you rear privacy glass, driver and passenger lumbar adjustment, an 8-inch screen display, the Sync 3 system, and smartphone app integration. Also standard are the FordPass Wi-Fi connectivity for up to 10 devices and additional USB ports. There's also a keypad entry system. Alloy wheels and chrome bumpers are also included, and it's worth mentioning that these are not available on the base XL trim. The Lariat comes with all of the XLT's standard features but adds on a 2.7L turbocharged engine rated at 325 horsepower. Dual-zone climate control, driver-seat memory settings, and leather upholstery are also standard. The front seats are ventilated for extra comfort. The Lariat also features ambient interior lighting. Standard safety features on both the XLT and Lariat include front airbags, anti lock brakes, a rearview camera, and forward collision warning.

Package Options

The package options are too numerous to mention in detail, but rest assured you have plenty to choose from. An example is the Mid 301A package for the XLT trim. This gets you an auto-dimming for the rearview mirror and driver's side exterior mirror, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a seven-speaker sound system. There's also a Luxury 302A package that includes the Mid 301A features and adds on remote ignition, heated front seats, and power-adjustable seats. The Lariat comes with most of these package add-ons as standard, and you can also purchase the Luxury 502 package for this trim. This includes LED headlights and foglights, front bucket seats, navigation, and an 11-speaker audio system with HD radio.
